Traffic Collision Seriously Injures a Pedestrian

 

On 01-06-13 at approximately at 5:30 PM, the Fountain Valley Police Department responded to the intersection of Euclid Street and Stonecress Avenue regarding a traffic collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian. Officers arrived and found an injured male pedestrian and summoned paramedics to the scene. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital for a traumatic head injury, and is listed in critical condition. The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time pending notification to the next-of-kin. Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking N/B along the sidewalk of Euclid and entered the intersection of Stonecress. The passenger vehicle made a right turn from N/B Euclid to E/B Stonecress and collided with the pedestrian. At this time, alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a contributing factor to the collision. No arrests have been made at this time. Investigation is on-going.
