Mclaughlin had recently been released from prison and was on parole after being convicted of robbery in 2010.

On 4-22-13 at 7:48 p.m. Detectives from the Fountain Valley Police Department and the FBI located Mclaughlin in the city of Long Beach. Mclaughlin was taken into custody without incident.
