BADGE CEREMONY


On Tuesday, July 23, at 3:00 p.m., the Fountain Valley Police Department will be conducting a badge ceremony to recognize the hiring of a new police officer. Officer Mitchell Martinez will be sworn in by Chief of Police Daniel S. Llorens in the Fountain Valley Council Chambers located at 10200 Slater Avenue, Fountain Valley.

Mitchell Martinez grew up in Mission Viejo where he was an Orange County Sheriff’s Explorer from age 14-17. Mitchell enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as an Infantry Machine Gunner for four years. During his service in the Marine Corps, he completed two combat deployments to Iraq before being honorably discharged.

After the Marine Corps, Mitchell was hired as a Custody Assistant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He was assigned to the Twin Towers Correctional Facility where he worked in the jail. Mitchell was hired by the Rialto Police Department in 2011 and served the citizens of Rialto until being hired by the Fountain Valley Police Department.
Mitchell married his wife Cassandra in April of this year. In his spare time, Mitchell enjoys spending time with his wife and watching hockey and baseball games.
