Injury Traffic Collision

On 10-03-12 at approximately at 4:30 PM, the Fountain Valley Police Department responded to the intersection of Talbert Avenue and Mt. Washington Street regarding a traffic collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcyclist. Officers arrived and found an injured female motorcyclist and summoned paramedics to the scene. Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for a traumatic leg injury.

The passenger vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene before officers arrived. Officers later located the suspect vehicle a short distance away from the scene, and the driver was detained.

Investigation revealed the victim motorcyclist was W/B Talbert at Mt. Washington when the suspect vehicle made a left turn in front of it, causing a collision. The motorcyclist was ejected onto the sidewalk. The suspect driver, identified as 75 year old Douglas Jenan of Huntington Beach, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit and run.

Preliminary investigation did not show that alcohol or drugs contributed to the collision. The victim's injuries are not considered life threatening at this time. Investigation is on-going.
