On August 29, 2008 the Fountain Valley Police Department with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol conducted a DUI/Driver’s License check point on Harbor Boulevard at Edinger.  The check point was operated between the hours of 9 P.M. and 3 A.M..  During the operating hours of the check point, officers arrested (5) impaired drivers, arrested (3) suspects for drug possession, issued citations to (18) driver’s for being unlicensed or driving on suspended licenses and impounded (24) vehicles.

This successful check point is a part of the Police Department’s continuing efforts in addressing traffic safety and was funded through a grant with the California Office of Traffic Safety.
