FV Patrol Unit Involved in Collision During Pursuit
 
On Tuesday, May 27 at approximately 6:55 PM a Fountain Valley Police Department patrol unit was involved in a collision in the city of Costa Mesa while engaged in a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit began in the area of Warner Ave. and Euclid Street in Fountain Valley. The pursuit lasted less than three minutes and terminated on South Coast Drive, west of Fairview where the collision occurred.

The FVPD unit collided with two vehicles that were not involved in the pursuit. One of the other drivers and the FVPD officer were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries and released. The collision investigation is being conducted by the Costa Mesa Police Department.

The suspect vehicle, which was being pursued for misc. traffic violations, was not involved in the collision and fled the scene. The vehicle was later located abandoned in an area apartment complex and impounded by FVPD officers. The suspect driver is still at large. The search for the suspect is being conducted by Fountain Valley investigators.

Identities of the other drivers are not available at this time.
