Underage Alcohol Violations | |
| On Friday, May 23 2008, Fountain Valley Police Department investigators conducted an undercover surveillance of Sam’s Smoke Shop and Liquor, 17951 Magnolia, Fountain Valley. This was in response to recent complaints of alcohol being sold to minors in addition to past violations at that location. During the course of the evening, 20 minors ranging from 15 – 19 years of age were arrested for illegal possession of alcohol. The age breakdown was as follows; 2 at19 years; 4 at 18; 8 at 17; 3 at 16 and 3 at 15 years of age. Subsequently, the owner of the store, Marwan Habaibeh, 49, of Fountain Valley, and store clerk, Remon Dawood, 25, of Garden Grove were each arrested for selling alcohol to minors. All parties arrested were released on citations. The case is being forwarded to the Fountain Valley City Attorney’s office and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for review. | |
