Serial Drugstore Burglary Arrest | |
| On January 20, 2010 at 1221 hours Walgreens Drugstore employees reported the theft of $751 worth of razor blades and lip balm. The employees said the suspect entered the store, located at 16201 Harbor Blvd., filled a hand basket full of merchandise and fled the store without paying for the merchandise. The suspect entered a brown or gold Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck and drove away. The suspect was captured on the drugstore surveillance video system (10-0353) On January 21, 2010 at 1343 hours CVS Drugstore employees reported the theft of razor blades. The employees said the suspect entered the store, located at 17139 Magnolia Ave., filled a hand basket full of merchandise and fled the store. The suspect entered a brown or gold Chevrolet S-10 pick-up and drove away. The value of the loss is still being determined. (10-0368) In both thefts the suspect was described similar to a 40-45 year old white male, 6’5”, 240 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. On January 23, 2010 at 1324 hours, Fountain Valley Police Officer Miramontes was patrolling the Rite Aid Drugstore parking lot, located at 18395 Magnolia. He observed the suspect flee the parking lot in his vehicle. He broadcast this information to other patrol officers. Officer Knight located and stopped the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by John Loftus (52 yrs), who is on parole, and Lisa Campbell (44 yrs). Their investigation revealed Loftus and Campbell had just stolen $667 worth of Tylenol and Aleve from the Rite Aid Drugstore. They also located merchandise stolen from the CVS and Walgreens Drugstores. Both suspects were arrested and booked at Orange County Jail for commercial burglary.
