National Night Out & Movie in the Park
 
On Tuesday, August 3, 2010, neighborhoods throughout Fountain Valley are being invited to join thousands of communities nationwide for the “27th Annual National Night Out” crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Fountain Valley Police Department, will involve over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S.Territories, Canadian cities and U.S. military bases around the world. Over 37 million people are expected to participate in ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime’. National Night Out 2010 is being supported in part by TARGET, the national corporate sponsor.

From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. residents in neighborhoods throughout Fountain Valley and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. The Fountain Valley Police Department will be hosting a community event along with the Fountain Valley Recreation & Community Services Division at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center & Sports Park, 1640 Brookhurst Street.

There will be information booths from Crime Prevention and Neighborhood Watch for National Night Out, displays from Fountain Valley Police and Fire Departments, SWAT and K9 demonstrations, children’s fingerprinting, clowns, face painting, balloons, games for kids and food!

The movie, Kung Fu Panda, will begin at dusk.
