Getting a Vehicle Release
A vehicle release form is needed from the Fountain Valley Police Department before going to the tow yard.
Generally, only the Registered or Legal owner with proof of identification
and current registration can get a vehicle release.
We are open for vehicle releases Monday thru Friday during business hours,
except for holidays. Saturday hours can vary.
If your vehicle was towed because the driver did not have a license or was driving on a suspended license,
your vehicle may be held for 30 days. In accordance with 22852 & 14602.6(d) VC, the owner can r
equest a hearing to get the vehicle released prior to the 30 days by showing up at the
Police Department Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

| $52 | This fee is for vehicles towed for reasons such as expired registration and abandoned vehicle violations (no arrest involved). |
| $146 | This fee is for vehicles towed because the driver was arrested but released at the scene, such as driving on a suspended license or driving without a driver’s license. |
| $354 | This fee is for vehicles towed because the driver was arrested and booked into a jail facility. |
| $354 | This fee is for vehicles involved in a collision that resulted in a fatality. |

Para recuperar su vehículos
Se necesita una carta del Departamento de Policía de Fountain Valley antes de ir a recoger su vehículo de la grúa. Generalmente, solo.
La persona que esta registrada al vehículo o el dueño legal del vehículo puede sacar el vehículo y tiene que tener identificación y la registracion de vehículo.
Si su vehículo se lo quitaron por manejar sin licencia o con licencia suspendida, su vehículo puede ser retenido por 30 días. Segun las secciónes 22852 y 14602.6(a) del Codigo Vehicular, el dueño de la vehiculo puede pedir permiso de sacar el vehiculo antes de que pasen los 30 dias. Se presentan al Departmento de Policia Lunes a viernes, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

En la estacion de policia solo se acepta dinero en efectivo. Si desea pagar con credito o desea cambio, vaya al alcaldía a travez del estacionamiento.
| $52 | Esta cuota es para los vehículos llevados por la grúa cuando estaban estacionados, ex. La registracion del vehículo esta vencida o ilegalmente abandonado y no huvo un arretso. |
| $146 | Esta cuota es para los vehículos llevados por la grúa porque el chofer fue arrestado y lo dejaron ir con un ticket, ejemplo manejando con licencia vencida o sin tener licencia de conducir. |
| $354 | Esta cuota es para los vehículos llevados por la grúa porque el chofer fue arrestado y fue llevado ala cárcel. |
| $354 | Esta cuota es para los vehículos llevados por la grúa donde el vehículo fue involucrado en un accidente fatal. |
